How to measure a package correctly
Determining Length (L), Width (W), and Height (H) The longest side of your package is your length. Be sure to round your measurements up to the nearest centimeter.Girth = Length + 2x Height + 2x Width |
How do I calculate the girth and what additional costs apply?
Girth = longest side + 2x height + 2x width
Girth | Longest side | Additional costs incl. VAT |
up to 330 cm | Under 150 cm | None |
up to 330 cm | from 151 cm to max. 170 cm (do not exceed the girth here either!) | 45,- Euro |
from 331 cm to max. 400 cm | 260,- Euro
from 401 cm | 1.450,- Euro
Insufficiently packaged
(only paper/foil, wooden/plastic or metal box, round shape) |
(do not exceed the girth here either!) | from 45,- Euro
up to 1.450,- Euro depending on size! |
ATTENTION: UPS drivers/collectors are not obligated to check compliance with package length or girth or inform you about additional costs!
How do I measure an irregularly shaped package?
Measure irregularly shaped packages as if they were in a rectangular box.
Measure the length, width, and height of the theoretical package from the furthest points to determine the package dimensions. In this example, the total girth is 444 cm: Length = 202 cm Width = 76 cm Height = 45 cm
